Matcha 4g

Ingredients

  • 4g Eupouria Organic First Harvest Matcha
  • 40 mL hot water, approximately 80°C
  • 90 mL cold milk
  • Ice

1. Sift matcha

Sift 4g of matcha (2 level teaspoons) into your bowl to remove clumps and help create a smoother drink.

2. Add hot water

Add 40 mL of water at approximately 80°C and whisk until the matcha is completely combined and lightly foamy.

3. Pour over milk and ice

Fill a glass with plenty of ice and 90 mL of cold milk, then pour the freshly whisked matcha over the top. Stir and enjoy.

Tips for a Smooth Iced Matcha Latte

Sift your matcha: Matcha naturally forms small clumps, so sifting before whisking makes a noticeable difference.

Avoid boiling water: Water around 80°C helps preserve matcha's natural sweetness and reduces excessive bitterness.

Whisk before adding milk: Fully dissolve and whisk the matcha with water first rather than trying to mix matcha powder directly into cold milk.

Adjust to taste: Use a little more or less milk depending on how strong you like your matcha latte.

Make It with Eupouria Matcha

Great matcha recipes start with quality matcha. Eupouria's Organic First Harvest Matcha is sourced primarily from Kagoshima, Japan and stone-milled for natural sweetness, creamy texture and deep umami.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I make an iced matcha latte without a bamboo whisk?

Yes. A bamboo chasen is ideal for traditional matcha preparation, but a small electric frother or whisk can also be used to combine the matcha and water.

What milk is best for an iced matcha latte?

Dairy milk and alternatives such as oat, soy and almond milk can all be used. Choose the milk that gives you your preferred flavour and texture.

Why should I sift matcha before making a latte?

Sifting breaks apart small clumps in the matcha powder, making it easier to whisk smoothly into the water.

What temperature should the water be for matcha?

Around 80°C works well for this recipe. Very hot or boiling water can increase bitterness and overpower matcha's more delicate flavours.

How much matcha should I use in an iced latte?

This recipe uses 4g of matcha for one strong iced matcha latte. You can reduce the amount for a milder drink or increase the milk to suit your taste.
